Surprisingly, the movers did turn up at 4.00pm. To be sure, we ‘bribed’/tip the workers CNY10 each first before letting them do the job. Lo and behold, they were quite gentle with the stuff.

It is 3:00 pm now. The movers (and we had to call them up) … now say they can only come ‘earliest’ at 4.00pm- Original appointment time: 2.30pm. This is China …
“4.00pm? You won’t have time to move everything by nightfall”
